Our Care and Services
How We Provide CareWe have nurses on duty 24 hours a day, and our medical director is always on call. We provide rehabilitation services six days a week—or more often if ordered by a physician. Our interdisciplinary team of professionals—nurses, rehabilitation therapists, dietitian, social worker, activities director, and others—determines the care each resident needs and how to provide it. Our residents play an important role in planning their care, too. We work with our short-term rehabilitation patients to set reasonable recovery goals, based on their specific medical condition and personal needs. Our focus is on helping them become more knowledgeable about their condition, more actively involved in their own healthcare, and more independent in performing daily activities. For extended-stay residents, we provide skilled nursing services and assistance with the activities of daily living. We’ve created a caring, safe, and supportive environment and offer a diverse and engaging lineup of social and recreational activities. Our goal is to foster a sense of family, connection, and community. Programs and Services Orchard Ridge offers a wide variety of healthcare programs and services. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the entire facility, the activities offered to patients, the entertainment provided, etc. There is not enough I can say about the excellent treatment by all…. We realize it will be a long road to complete recovery; your staff has done their job and now we are prepared to do our share. When my wife is up to it, we certainly want to come by and say hello to all our friends. " Husband of a former patient "I have been a resident since July 2000. I experienced both rehabilitation and long-term care. When I first arrived, I didn't think I would ever walk or be able to do anything for myself. But thanks to your staff, I am still functioning as an individual…. My physical therapist was one of the best therapists I ever had the privilege to work with. She made sure I got up and walked and exercised to maintain some of my strength. She took care of the open wounds on my heel and made sure her directions were followed by the nurses and aides. She certainly deserves to be acknowledged for her dedication and assistance. She is one great lady. Without my therapist and the rest of your staff, I sometimes wonder where I would be today." A resident "I want to express with words of appreciation my impressions…. Nursing is magnificent at Orchard Ridge.…Diagnostic skill and/or intuition is not only for doctors. [During my mother's] first admission five years ago, every acute illness was acted upon correctly, and there were many. I am a critical care nurse…a nurse of forty years….I am in wonder of the first-line team [at Orchard Ridge], nurses and aides. Remarkable performance extends not only to fine nursing. Physical therapy got my mother…walking 35 ft. upon discharge…. Performance in nursing is what prompted this letter, but I am so grateful to so many…" Daughter of a resident "I am writing on behalf of my mother-in-law, her children, and their families. As you are aware, Orchard Ridge became the final residence of my father-in-law. Our families visited him frequently, while his devoted wife spent most of each and every single day of his stay with you, by his bedside. We all became very fond of the Orchard Ridge caregivers, and we express our sincere appreciation to each of them for the wonderful care they provided…. We especially want to recognize the nurses, who created a comfort level for my father-in-law, my mother-in-law, and for us that is deeply appreciated. Their genuine show of love and respect for my father-in-law and the other patients was, to us, most gratifying. You are very privileged to have all of these professionals on your staff. We also want to recognize and thank the aides…for the superb care the provided to my father-in-law and the gentleness and affection they showed for both him and my mother-in-law. We sincerely appreciated the assistance provided us by the nurse supervisor, social workers, driver, and all of the physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists and their aides, who assisted my father-in-law during his stay there. Also we express our gratitude to the many other employees in the custodial and maintenance, food service, recreation, and laundry services for doing their jobs so well and thereby making my father-in-law's time there as pleasant as possible. The fond memories of our beloved husband and father will always include Orchard Ridge and its wonderful, loving, and caring staff. May God bless each of you and the work that you do so that other patients and their families can enjoy the solace of knowing that their loved one is being cared for in a reverent manner."
